"Oregon" Training Program

Coach Steve Silvey has just released his complete training book of workouts he used for the 2003 track & field season. This 76-page book features workouts beginning in the fall and all the way thru the NCAA Championships in mid-June. A great book for the coach who wants to know how to plan workouts for the entire season for the following events: 100meters/200meters/400meters /110 Hurdles /400 Intermediate Hurdles as well as 800 meter training.

This easy-to-follow "Cookbook" will now make it much simpler for coaches to plan the right type of workouts during the year: Fall Conditioning, Indoor Season, Early Season, Mid-Season, Late-Season & the critical: Championship Phase.

Silvey has been part of 28 Nationals Championship teams at Arkansas and Blinn Junior College. Silvey arrived at the University of Oregon in the fall of 2001 and quickly helped to turn Oregon’s men’s programs from a team that ranked 6^th in 2001 to 2^nd at the 2002 PAC-10 Championships and then to become the PAC-10 Champions in 2003. Silvey has produced numerous SEC and PAC-10 individual champions and NCAA All-Americans. Coach Silvey’s 2003 Oregon team had NCAA Championship Qualifiers in the following events: 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 110 Hurdles, 400 Hurdles & 1,600 meters relay. This feat has not been accomplished at the University of Oregon since 1964, when the team won the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship. Silvey has produced 35 Olympians that have won 14 Olympic medals & 26 Athletes that have competed in the World Championship and have won 17 medals.
